OUR JOURNEY TO
We’ve been making surimi seafood here in Bellingham, WA since 1985. For most of those years, we have used wheat-containing ingredients in many of our products. A few years ago, we became aware that some people were buying our Crab Classic Chunk Style and Lobster Classic products because they were made without wheat ingredients and thus, satisfied their gluten-free diet needs. After speaking with people who suffer from celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity, we started to consider making a change to our wheat-containing products. Because we could make this change without affecting the taste and quality of our products, it seemed like the right thing to do.
We are proud to report that effective Fall 2014, our production plant became a 100% gluten-free facility, and in 2015 we became a CERTIFIED gluten-free processor. You’ll find a gluten-free banner on all of our packaging.
